7 Steps Improve Concentration

The ability to improve concentration or focus on specific objectives will enhance our mental abilities and in turn improve the quality of our lives.

In everyday life we are constantly bombarded with the response of our senses: sight, sound, smell, and feelings. Our brains have to decide what is important for us to be saved, and what is not to be discarded.

If we do not focus, our attention span is spread in many different things and this will be reflected in our brain. Activity in the brain also will decompose in the entire brain and there is no lasting traces that will be created.

When we concentrate on a particular task or object, the brain will automatically minimize or turn off the activities that are not related to task and activate brain regions associated with the object of our attention.

Ability to change tracks / new sensory experiences are the basis for all learning, it does not mean just academic learning but whatever we do in our lives. From learning to walk, ride a bike, or learn more complex mathematics - once we learn we will never forget.

The most successful people in all walks of life, scientists, athletes, actors, teachers, employers or others who are successful always had one thing in common, they know what they want and they have a focused mind to achieve their goals. By focusing on the goal, all the energy and effort is concentrated on tasks that move to be closer to the destination.

The ability to focus will help us know what we need to do but more importantly we will also know what not to do. Reticular activating system in the brain will remind our attention to important things around us that will help us move toward what we want. (Reticular system is a system that beradadi your brain stem, which helps you to direct yourself to something you want, provided you wanted it to be specific)

How can I improve my concentration:

1. Having a specific goal you want to accomplish. If it is a financial goal, formulate exactly how much you want to have, get up as fast as you build your finances your ability to make money. Set a time limit when you want to achieve it.

2. Having a reason why you must achieve it. This is the most important things to you include, the stronger the reason the more likely it will get there.

3. Confidence that you will achieve it and stay focused on those beliefs. You have to be really sure that you will achieve it. Make it a necessity.

4. Make a Plan - How to get to your destination? Create an entire list of tasks that you need to take to move closer to your goal. The list also things that do not need to do, things that would distract from achieving your goals. Things like watching too much TV, or hanging out with friends. More focused in addressing the plan.

5. Action - Break the plan into monthly, weekly and daily action plan. Set aside a specific time and take action every day at least that time will bring you closer to your destination.

6. Review - Review at least every month, much longer than that means you will deviate too far from your destination. Make the necessary adjustments in the plan or action, but remain on the destination.

7. Enjoy the process - Setting goals and working towards it would be more satisfying if you enjoy the process of doing it.
